\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Another Of Life\u2019s Mysteries<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was reading \u201cPeanuts\u201d the other day.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t going Charlie Brown\u2019s way.<\/p>\n

He really liked the little red haired girl.<\/p>\n

When she was around it gave him a thrill.<\/p>\n

But, like most boys his age, he was shy.<\/p>\n

He couldn\u2019t speak up before the other guy.<\/p>\n

I realized just how true this cartoon was.<\/p>\n

I was afraid to talk till I outgrew the fuzz.<\/p>\n

Call it lack of self confidence, or even shy.<\/p>\n

I could never be—– \u2018the other guy.\u2019<\/p>\n

The one who is popular with the girls.<\/p>\n

The one who gives them all the thrills.<\/p>\n

Not that I didn\u2019t want to be the best.<\/p>\n

Be proud and stick out my chest.<\/p>\n

Having a girl, one on each arm.<\/p>\n

Hugging on me with all their charm.<\/p>\n

But, I was the Charlie Brown type.<\/p>\n

Never could come up with the hype.<\/p>\n

As an adult I outgrew the shyness.<\/p>\n

Was able to go out and try this.<\/p>\n

I pulled it together enough in life<\/p>\n

to finally be able to get a wife.<\/p>\n

Now, in my older years I find,<\/p>\n

I, quite often, speak my mind.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t give a hoot what others think.<\/p>\n

I blurt out garbage like the disposal in the sink.<\/p>\n

Seems like life has passed the buck.<\/p>\n

At first I couldn\u2019t talk, now I can\u2019t shut up.<\/p>\n

There is a lesson somewhere in this.<\/p>\n

It is NOT a punch in the face from a fist.<\/p>\n

While I am trying to figure it out.<\/p>\n
