God\u2019s Mysterious Ways<\/p>\n
I was in the caf\u00e9 reading a paperback.<\/p>\n
Sipping my coffee and kicking back.<\/p>\n
In came a couple and ordered breakfast..<\/p>\n
Another customer was asking for his check.<\/p>\n
I looked out the window. Rain had begun.<\/p>\n
Here came in two more, on the run.<\/p>\n
Soon it was crowded. Noise level was high.<\/p>\n
Just an average morning I thought with a sigh.<\/p>\n
Someone asked to join me in my booth.<\/p>\n
I said sure. To refuse would be uncouth.<\/p>\n
It was a woman about my age.<\/p>\n
Her perfume reminded me of sage.<\/p>\n
I sipped my coffee & continued to read.<\/p>\n
She got out her cell phone & dialed on speed.<\/p>\n
I guess she was talking to her boss.<\/p>\n
She explained how the account was facing a loss.<\/p>\n
I heard a lot of \u2018squawking\u2019 on the other end.<\/p>\n
She politely hung up , then said \u201cSorry friend.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo problem\u201d, I said in reply.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t mean to disturb your reading time.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cLike me, you read when you can, or at least try.\u201d<\/p>\n
I only nodded and said it was fine.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat ya reading?\u201d she asked<\/p>\n
\u201cAn apocalyptic science fiction story.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOh, science fiction is my favorite blast.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat is the name of that story?\u201d<\/p>\n
I told her and we started to talk.<\/p>\n
She told me about herself.<\/p>\n
We had a lot in common. Who would of thought?<\/p>\n
I told her some about myself.<\/p>\n
She seemed to grow quiet when I mentioned my religion.<\/p>\n
I didn\u2019t say anymore as she seemed turned off.<\/p>\n
Before long she excused herself & fluttered out like a pigeon.<\/p>\n
I saw a problem so I came on soft.<\/p>\n
I knew her name so added her to my prayer list.<\/p>\n
I sipped my coffee & watched the rain.<\/p>\n
God led her here. I was sure of this.<\/p>\n
Now, the work was the Holy Spirit\u2019s, that was plain.<\/p>\n
God works in mysterious ways.<\/p>\n
We cannot know what He has in mind.<\/p>\n
Maybe soon, one of these days.<\/p>\n
