You\u2019ve heard it said many times before.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve heard me scream it as you went out the door.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m a pre computer person in a post computer age.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve read the book & don\u2019t understand a single page.<\/p>\n

When I was young we used a slide rule.<\/p>\n

Hand calculators \u2018not allowed\u2019 was the rule.<\/p>\n

Then, as a young adult, computers came along.<\/p>\n

I ignored them and kept singing my song.<\/p>\n

My son said. \u201cGet a computer. What could go wrong?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPop, you have to stop singing that song.\u201d<\/p>\n

After some time I gave into the\u00a0 pressure.<\/p>\n

I got a computer and let it sit here.<\/p>\n

My son came and hooked it up.<\/p>\n

Learning the basics was really tough.<\/p>\n

A mouse was what I set traps for.<\/p>\n

A \u2018floppy disk\u2019 was a real horror!!<\/p>\n

Words now seemed to mean a different thing.<\/p>\n

learn a new language just to play with the thing.<\/p>\n

To turn it off I have to press start.<\/p>\n

If I pressed the delete button it could break my heart.<\/p>\n

Very slowly, I learned most of the basic things.<\/p>\n

It often caused nightmares in my dreams.<\/p>\n

Cut and paste I could never get.<\/p>\n

Kindergarten stuff, I couldn\u2019t do on a bet.<\/p>\n

Then came Outlook 6, 7, and 8.<\/p>\n

I just didn\u2019t have what it takes.<\/p>\n

I was lost in a world of words and phrases.<\/p>\n

The hell with this!! It can go to blazes!!<\/p>\n

Then I was told to get a Galaxy S II phone.<\/p>\n

I can get on the internet while gone or at home.<\/p>\n

I can take pictures & put them on line.<\/p>\n

Facebook would take up most of my time.<\/p>\n

I can tweet and twitter galore.<\/p>\n

I can text people. What is a phone for??<\/p>\n

When I was young we used it to talk to each other.<\/p>\n

That is all that was needed . So said my mother.<\/p>\n

This electronic crap is driving me insane.<\/p>\n

Pay bills on the computer. It seems so lame.<\/p>\n

No wonder the mail service is dwindling away.<\/p>\n

No time for mail while on the computer all day.<\/p>\n

Get outdoors folks. Learn to have some outdoor fun.<\/p>\n

Kids can\u2019t ride a bike but, have calluses on their thumbs.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a sign of the times you say to me.<\/p>\n

I say get outside. \u00a0Learn to be free.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m a pre computer person in a post computer age.<\/p>\n

I have to use a computer some, despite the rage.<\/p>\n

But, the pre computer life was way better for me.<\/p>\n

At least, back then I actually felt free.<\/p>\n
