He showed up on my doorstep late last night.<\/p>\n

And, said he didn\u2019t want to fight\u00a0 anymore.<\/p>\n

Going back is near impossible, I cried.<\/p>\n

You should have thought of this long before.<\/p>\n

Said he was sorry— & wants to make it right.<\/p>\n

Would I consider coming back once more.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s too late. His betrayal had turned to spite.<\/p>\n

The love that I believed in has all but, slipped away.<\/p>\n

We were both like children, caught up in our own lies.<\/p>\n

Could I believe in you if I took you back today?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Memories are easy when they are new.<\/p>\n

The right ones followed will lead you to romance.<\/p>\n

But, when those memories are not the truth<\/p>\n

it\u2019s hard for me to take a second chance.<\/p>\n

A resurrected life of lies is not the way to go.<\/p>\n

With so many heartaches and so many lies<\/p>\n

So many years wasted with nothing left to show.<\/p>\n

How could you make up for that when all is pointed down?<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve covered it all. There\u2019s nowhere else to go<\/p>\n

Could I believe in you if I took you back today?<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve spent lonely nights just crying myself to sleep.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve finally been able to close tight every door.<\/p>\n

Then you show up in the middle of the night.<\/p>\n

Saying you want me back again once more.<\/p>\n

A heart can only take so much strife<\/p>\n

before it stops and will no longer fight.<\/p>\n

My roller coaster ride was nearly at an end.<\/p>\n

Then you show up with promises to make it right.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t need a lover now, I need a friend.<\/p>\n

Could I believe in you if I took you back today?<\/p>\n
