\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Too Busy To Smell The Roses<\/strong><\/p>\n I came home tired after another grueling day.<\/p>\n No wife to meet me saying she wanted to play.<\/p>\n Where could she have gone today?<\/p>\n Maybe to another who has more time to play?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I want to tell you life is getting me down.<\/p>\n I feel more like a doormat than a clown.<\/p>\n At work, my life is a living hell.<\/p>\n At home no one is here to ring my bell.<\/p>\n I try my best on all the fronts.<\/p>\n I haven\u2019t been happy for months and months.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n My wife comes home & says she was shopping.<\/p>\n She doesn\u2019t come in with anything. She\u2019s not talking.<\/p>\n I flop down with the remote and my paper.<\/p>\n Go through the motions of watching the Lakers.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n After dinner I suggest a movie.<\/p>\n Of course, the answer is anything but groovy.<\/p>\n She\u2019s too tired from being out all day.<\/p>\n What she was doing she just would not say.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I want to tell you life is getting me down.<\/p>\n I feel more like a doormat than a clown.<\/p>\n At work, my life is a living hell.<\/p>\n At home, no one is here to ring my bell.<\/p>\n I try my best on all the fronts.<\/p>\n I haven\u2019t been happy for months & months.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I mention I have a vacation coming soon.<\/p>\n I say I can get three weeks off in June.<\/p>\n she just grunts, but doesn\u2019t respond.<\/p>\n The silence that follows just cannot go on.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cWhat has happened to us?\u201d I lament.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is not how marriage was meant!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhat happened to the fire & desire?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI feel I\u2019m walking on a tightrope wire.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I want to tell you life is getting me down.<\/p>\n I feel more like a doormat than a clown.<\/p>\n At work, my life is a living hell.<\/p>\n At home, no one is here to ring my bell.<\/p>\n I try my best on all the fronts.<\/p>\n I haven\u2019t been happy for months & months.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re not the same\u2019, she suddenly said.<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re always busy trying to get ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMy love for you died, mostly from neglect.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSomeone else now has my love & respect.\u201d<\/p>\n ——————————————————R.
