I\u2019m often on the run and scared.<\/p>\n

I wouldn\u2019t stay even if I dared.<\/p>\n

Too much killing on the news.<\/p>\n

Too much violence caused by booze.<\/p>\n

Everywhere I look there is sin.<\/p>\n

What chance have I to ever win.<\/p>\n

I am a creature of the night.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve lost the will to stay and fight.<\/p>\n

I sneak along from door to door.<\/p>\n

I do not want to make a score.<\/p>\n

Is there no hope for one like me?<\/p>\n

There is no end that I can see.<\/p>\n

Then, suddenly, I see the light.<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t give me such a fright.<\/p>\n

I know I\u2019ll never have to fight.<\/p>\n

I hang on with all my might.<\/p>\n

The light is God from up above.<\/p>\n

Sending down His precious love.<\/p>\n

I can walk upright and never fear.<\/p>\n

Just as long as I keep Him near.<\/p>\n

I hold Him tightly in my heart.<\/p>\n

I know we\u2019ll never be apart.<\/p>\n

No longer a creature of the night.<\/p>\n

I now walk proudly and upright.<\/p>\n

I know I am not of this world.<\/p>\n

I let my fingers now uncurl.<\/p>\n

I am just a stranger passing through.<\/p>\n

Once I was feeling just like you.<\/p>\n

You can join me in my quest.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll learn we are the very best.<\/p>\n

We are of the family of God,<\/p>\n

that speaks softly & carries a rod.<\/p>\n

He will be with us wherever we go.<\/p>\n

Others will join us because they know.<\/p>\n

We are travelers who are going home.<\/p>\n
