<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 All In A Day<\/strong><\/p>\n As I lie awake \u00a0in bed,<\/p>\n It\u2019s late at night; the world is dead.<\/p>\n The lights are out. There\u2019s dark all round.<\/p>\n My sweet wife\u2019s near me sleeping sound.<\/p>\n As I toss and turn within this bed,<\/p>\n These thoughts are running through my head.<\/p>\n My thoughts return to yesterday,<\/p>\n Of things I did and didn\u2019t say.<\/p>\n Of things tomorrow we need to do.<\/p>\n Like gardening and housework too.<\/p>\n Then my mind thinks of the past.<\/p>\n Of happy times that made me laugh.<\/p>\n My thoughts return to childhood days.<\/p>\n Of mom and dad —and games we played.<\/p>\n Like riding bikes, hide and seek,<\/p>\n And going swimming in the creek.<\/p>\n There was childhood mischief now and then.<\/p>\n With my dog and I and several friends.<\/p>\n Yes, I think of those times again.<\/p>\n Those were happy times back then.<\/p>\n My friends and I had plans and schemes<\/p>\n And all the usual childhood dreams.<\/p>\n But, as my thoughts return to now,<\/p>\n I find my life has changed somehow.<\/p>\n I remember not so long ago.<\/p>\n The daily routine of life was dull.<\/p>\n Just work, sleep, and pay the bills.<\/p>\n Not much in the way of thrills.<\/p>\n I found myself thinking now and then:<\/p>\n I wish I were a kid again.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n But, now I find my life has changed.<\/p>\n No more dullness now remains!<\/p>\n What happened was we asked to be saved.<\/p>\n By that I mean we knelt and prayed.<\/p>\n We asked the Lord to forgive our sins.<\/p>\n We opened up our hearts to him.<\/p>\n We were baptized and joined the church.<\/p>\n Now we both put Jesus first.<\/p>\n Our daily routine has not changed much.<\/p>\n Most of the changes went on in us.<\/p>\n We still work, sleep, and pay the bills.<\/p>\n But, now our lives are full of thrills!<\/p>\n Were teaching others to give them light,<\/p>\n And we say a prayer to God each night.<\/p>\n We ask for help to be more like Him.<\/p>\n We ask forgiveness for any sins.<\/p>\n I give thanks for I am happy within.<\/p>\n I no longer wish to be a kid again.<\/p>\n Now I can have those plans and schemes.<\/p>\n And all those other childhood dreams.<\/p>\n For my fondest wishes may now come true.<\/p>\n When Jesus comes for me and you.———–R.
