We first met at a walk a thon event.<\/p>\n

She was flying around the track.<\/p>\n

Going so fast I wondered where she went.<\/p>\n

I had to move it to even see her back.<\/p>\n

When I asked her what was the rush?<\/p>\n

She said some exercise was all she needed.<\/p>\n

I said I am not trying to raise a fuss.<\/p>\n

But, killing yourself is not what\u2019s needed.<\/p>\n

That was the start of a whirlwind relationship.<\/p>\n

We were quite physical in all we did.<\/p>\n

We couldn\u2019t slow down. That was the way of it.<\/p>\n

Eventually, she got a new job offer bid.<\/p>\n

We went our separate ways.<\/p>\n

I went north to the mountains there.<\/p>\n

Got a job logging for a while.<\/p>\n

Then I drifted down to the Kansas open air.<\/p>\n

Helped bring in the corn in style.<\/p>\n

The work sometimes was worse for wear.<\/p>\n

Got up early, worked till dusk.<\/p>\n

Had fun every evening with all the locals.<\/p>\n

Drank and ate till I thought I\u2019d bust.<\/p>\n

Before long I was one of the yokels.<\/p>\n

Then I went down around the gulf.<\/p>\n

Oil was gone and fishing was back.<\/p>\n

I would buy bread by the loaf.<\/p>\n

Throw pieces off the pier where I sat.<\/p>\n

Got a job on a crabbing crawler.<\/p>\n

Cleaning out crab traps for our catch.<\/p>\n

Turn them over to the crab hauler.<\/p>\n

Who threw them down the tanker hatch.<\/p>\n

I drifted out west to California.<\/p>\n

Working in the fields harvesting crops.<\/p>\n

I thought of the girl back home enough to boar ya.<\/p>\n

Found more & more she was in my thoughts.<\/p>\n

I traveled on always alone.<\/p>\n

One thought was burning in my brain.<\/p>\n

I headed to where I thought she called home.<\/p>\n

Hoping to see her, which was insane.<\/p>\n

I found her listed in a phonebook in Chicago.<\/p>\n

Would she remember me? Was it worth a try?<\/p>\n

I wondered, would she now have a bow?<\/p>\n

I finally called her & prayed with a sigh.<\/p>\n

She was surprised, but, oh so happy.<\/p>\n

I had been on her mind for a long, long time.<\/p>\n

A negative response would have felt crappy.<\/p>\n

But, now I felt she could again be mine.<\/p>\n

I was working my way back to her.<\/p>\n

I made every effort to get it all back.<\/p>\n

She was wanting to be back for sure.<\/p>\n

In record time we did it. We didn\u2019t lack.<\/p>\n

I told her where I had drifted to and from.<\/p>\n

She felt a mistake happened when she\u2019d gone.<\/p>\n

I said, it set in concrete,\u00a0 she was the one.<\/p>\n

She said the same as we sat on the lawn.<\/p>\n

We set a date and were married.<\/p>\n

Years later we are still together.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re\u00a0 still\u00a0 physical & our love we carried.<\/p>\n
