\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Our Hometown<\/strong><\/p>\n

We took a trip to our hometown.<\/p>\n

We only stopped just to look around.<\/p>\n

The changes there took us by surprise.<\/p>\n

But, there it all was before our eyes.<\/p>\n

Population 500 when we were small.<\/p>\n

Now it was over 5,000 and that ain\u2019t all.<\/p>\n

They have a traffic light or two.<\/p>\n

Many new stores and sidewalks too.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not the same as it used to be.<\/p>\n

Not like it was when you met me.<\/p>\n

We had fun in this rural town.<\/p>\n

Just kicking back and fooling around.<\/p>\n

Our romance started down by the tracks<\/p>\n

where we watched for trains with smoking stacks.<\/p>\n

We graduated and moved away.<\/p>\n

Off to college, work, and a lotta play.<\/p>\n

We kept in touch & got back together.<\/p>\n

Then we married and it was forever.<\/p>\n

After many years we came home.<\/p>\n

To this town where we had grown.<\/p>\n

Yes, it\u2019s changed a lot, but, we have too.<\/p>\n

But, in the end, I still have you.<\/p>\n

The town has changed. It has grown.<\/p>\n

But, the principles it had sown<\/p>\n

when we were young and running free<\/p>\n

kept us together, you and me.<\/p>\n

So we love this town for what it gave.<\/p>\n

It helped us love & helped us stay.<\/p>\n

Something in common to talk about.<\/p>\n

Something to share and never pout.<\/p>\n

We love this town the way it was.<\/p>\n

But, changes or not, it still means love.<\/p>\n
