We were going for a short walk.<\/p>\n

We looked up when we heard some talk.<\/p>\n

A gang of kids were in the street.<\/p>\n

Before we could redirect our feet,<\/p>\n

two kids to the side started fighting.<\/p>\n

As I watched, two kids were gliding.<\/p>\n

They tiptoed by quiet as a mouse.<\/p>\n

Then they went into our house.<\/p>\n

They were trying to steal our TV.<\/p>\n

When our dog came out to see.<\/p>\n

He was in the other room.<\/p>\n

He growled and jumped the first buffoon.<\/p>\n

The other kid was setting down the TV.<\/p>\n

While he was saying— \u201cNice doggie.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then he turned and ran real fast.<\/p>\n

With the dog nipping at his ass.<\/p>\n

He tried to jump the picket fence.<\/p>\n

Caught his toe and down he went.<\/p>\n

Landed flat upon his face.<\/p>\n

Hit so hard he shook the place.<\/p>\n

He ran, dripping blood from his mouth.<\/p>\n

We went back into the house.<\/p>\n

We looked for the other thief.<\/p>\n

But, he was pretty fast on his feet.<\/p>\n

Out the back door he had run.<\/p>\n

The entire day was not much fun.<\/p>\n

This neighborhood had gotten bad.<\/p>\n

We decided to move, and I was glad.<\/p>\n

We moved to a gated community.<\/p>\n

They had neighborhood watch, you see.<\/p>\n

So we felt much safer and happy there.<\/p>\n

Better than we had felt anywhere.<\/p>\n

Our big black lab was happy too.<\/p>\n

He was happy to be away from that zoo.<\/p>\n

No more kids yelling an being brats.<\/p>\n

Always whenever he took his naps.<\/p>\n

The moral of the story in the end<\/p>\n
