\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A Halloween Urban Legend<\/strong><\/p>\n While camping for a day in the desert lands,<\/p>\n I saw a man walking out of the burning sands.<\/p>\n He came into camp and asked for water.<\/p>\n He looked like he couldn\u2019t get much hotter.<\/p>\n His skin was red and his clothes hung limp.<\/p>\n His body smelled\u00a0 like burning hemp.<\/p>\n After he drank enough to quench his thirst.<\/p>\n I said \u201cThis day must have been your worst\u201d.<\/p>\n He replied \u201cNo, what\u2019 s out there is worse by far\u201d.<\/p>\n I said \u201cYou mean the heat? Where\u2019s your car?\u2019.<\/p>\n \u201cI Ran into them on a geological survey trip\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cScared me so bad I almost lost my grip\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cBig, ugly, hair all over. Looked like a demon\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cMore than one. A bunch of behemoths\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cI dropped everything and ran for my life\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cAll I had on me was just my pipe\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been running, walking, & crawling \u201c.<\/p>\n \u201cFor 2 days straight. Too dried out for bawling\u201d.<\/p>\n I said \u201dMan, you\u2019re\u00a0 lucky you found me\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you get too hot, no telling what you\u2019ll see\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cNo man, it wasn\u2019t a hallucination or illusion\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cThey were real,\u00a0 in all their profusion\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cThey looked like they were having lunch\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey were eating human parts, I have a hunch\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ll drive you to the nearest town\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cReport it to the police about what you found\u201d.<\/p>\n When he told the police his story,<\/p>\n they laughed and said \u201cWe know it was gory\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cHowever, 2 days ago was Halloween day\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201c Every year there is a similar experience, they say\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cThere has been many searches with nothing found\u2019.<\/p>\n \u201c It\u2019s just an urban legend. To Halloween, it\u2019s bound\u2019.<\/p>\n The man was shocked and was sorry he came.<\/p>\n For him Halloween will never be the same.<\/p>\n ——————————————————-R. W.
